Interactive Video Mapping at Pioneer Works

A couple of months ago we had the opportunity of doing an Interactive Installation with David Sheinkopf (bbq_Dave) and Daniel Kent (exotic_maple) of Pioneer Works. We premiered 5 video-mapped sculptures at the Brooklyn Artists Ball in April of 2015 at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. A second installation was arranged a few weeks later for the Pioneer Works Village Fete, an annual fundraising event for the organization.

The five sculptures were hand crafted and designed by Daniel Kent and were outfitted with custom electronics organized by David Sheinkopf. Using MAX data from 5 sensors installed in the pieces controlled visuals which were then video mapped back onto the sculptures.

The crowd favorite was the Alcohol Sensor which gave a live read out of your Blood Alcohol Content when blowing into the sculpture. 3D models of Budweiser Cans also fell from the screen in a continuous loop.
